GDC & GC 2009... DONE!

Wed Aug 26, 2009, 12:49 AM
Woohoo, finally the GameDevelopersConference Europe and the GamesCom Germany in Cologne are over. My company partners and I had some very busy days to work through. Today is my first day back in office, so I'll start to resume work in order to process the load of feedback I could gather. I think the game I am working on right now will get much more better after implementing the result of our publisher feedback.

However... Time still is short, I start asking myself if I ever get to post any new deviation, lol.

A variety of gimmicks are still available:

For those of you who are interested in having a closer look at my avatar image, here is the chance: [link] The original image has a size of 596x640 pixels. It was not created by me. The originator is unknown.

By popular request, I have uploaded a print size version of the [link] Palladium Fantasy Map, as well as my original Photoshop file including tonns of layers. The summary information of the downloadable Zip-file is as follows:
- Palladium_Map.tif - 42,661 MB
- Palladium_Map.psd - 114,372 MB
- Color format is CMYK
- Image size is 4200x2600 pixels
The Photoshop file has multiple layers and layer-sets, so I recommend to use Photoshop CS or higher. The layers include names, tags, streets, textures, etc.

The downloadable Zip-file has an average file size of ~100 MB and is available here: [link]

New gimmick to appear, soon: Rigged version of [link]

Ok, that's all for now, Folks.
Keep it up!

Newsticker... Update

Mon May 4, 2009, 3:30 AM
Greetings World! :)

Yet no new deviation, but at least an update concerning all that has happened since March 19th.

Top 1: COMPANY FOUNDATION SUCCESSFULL
I hereby proudly present my own company "Heptamind", a studio dedicated in developing computer- and videogames, focusing on multi-platform adventures. The official startup date was April 3, 2009. At the moment, my co-founders and I have lots of work to do in order to keep our startup projects running and to satisfy the bureaucracy which is necessary for a campany foundation.

Top 2: AVATAR IMAGE
For those of you who are interested in having a closer look at my avatar image, here is the chance: [link]

Top 3: PALLADIUM FANTASY MAP

Ok, that's it for the Newsticker Update. I hope to be able to post a new deviation a.s.a.p. Apart from that, have a nice time, stay safe, bye bye. :)

Company Foundation

Thu Mar 19, 2009, 1:19 AM
Greeting to all of you at DA,

well, after a long time of silence (...gee, it's already eight months... sigh), it's at least time to renew my Journal. Unfortunately, I still have no new content to show, all progress of my private projects is on halt due to the happenings in the past few months.

At the end of 2008, my actual employer went insolvent and the process of insolvency is still ongoing. LOL, though this is my second employer insolvency I am forced to go through, it still is painfully stressy. However, end of March the company I am still working at will be shut down... end of line for another video game developer here in Germany.

Originally, I intended to look for a new empolyment within the games industry. After the news about the shutdown of my employer had worked a circuit, I had received some very interesting offers from reputable games development studios and I really was glad that they were interested in my person and talents.

In February 2009, two workmates and I started discussions about the possibility to go into business for ourselves. As of today, we are on the brink of founding our own games development company. :) The actual foundation will take place on 2nd of April 2009, so keep your fingers crossed for me. ;)

Cheers!

Something is missing...

Mon Jul 28, 2008, 4:30 AM
... and that needs to be fixed. Finally, I will be able to grab my pencils and ink again in order to create some new stuff.

Some time ago I started playing the "Warhammer 40k Dark Heresy" roleplaying game, and I have to say: I LIKE IT !!! I think it is time to visualize some of those insane character concepts.

So, Heretics beware, a new wave is rolling in... for the Emperor! *g*

Greetings world !!!

I wish I could tell something new, in fact my actual job is consuming every bit of resource I have. I hope that some day I will be able to get back to my drawing table or at least have some time for some private 3D- or 2D-Projects. And - of course - I need to finish my SciFiChopper, argh ;) lol

However, at the beginning of this year, I started to work in some rough concept for an Art-Book and I hope that I will be able to fill it with some content until I hit the 40-barrier > <

If you are interested in the projects I have done at work, here are sonme of them. Most of my tasks where creating graphics, in-game assets, etc., but mainly being a Lead-Artist and doing some development work, organising and planning:

- Legend of Kay (PS2)
- The Settlers: Rise of an Empire (PC)
- Pet Vet 3D: Wild Animal Hospital (PC & NDS)
- Overclocked (PC)
- Hurrican (PC)

(do you want to know more? Google is your friend) *g*

Anyway, thanks to all of you for stopping by, and special thanks to those of you watching or having favourites from my modest gallery.
