This is an ingame asset of the game "The Settlers: The Eastern Realm", an addon to the sixth game of the Settlers series. The requirement for this asset was to create a medieval looking building with a slight touch of fantasy elements.
Design, modelling and texturing were done by me, though texturing has been a coop work with one of my team mates.
the Khana Temple is one of the few buildings which does not use shared textures. The Diffuse Texture has a size of 2048x1024 pixels, the 2 Ambient Occlusion Texturemaps each have 1024x1024 pixels.

Oh that's interesting. I didn't think the size of the textures would be so big...is it because there would only be one of these buildings per level, and the engine doesn't have to load up the textures more than once?

Well, you can move the camera pretty near to one building wihin the game, so it has been necessary to choose this texture size. Alle the other buildings in the game also have similar texture sizes due to the required detail level.
The Khana temple is indeed a unique building which will show up once in a level. That is why its texture map also is unique. Most of the other buildings have shared texture maps, e.g. all buildings with a military theme do access a set of 3 textures from the military textures group. Corollary, the game engine only needs to load 3 (large) texture maps in order to render all buildings with the military theme.

No kidding? I have Settlers the new one, and I didn't realize the texture size was so huge. I figured it be at max 1024. Ahhhhh but the buildings have shared texture maps so that makes things a lot easier to process.

all of these last submissions from you are just great. its my favorite types of textures... somewhat cartoon modeling with realistic detailed miniature textures. very cool stuff!!
Thx man! I'm glad that the style is recognizable. It was exactly the requirement for building the environment: Modelling a cartoon- and medieval-like structure with realistic textures.
Cheers ^^
