Freelancer's Diary

Well, there are phases where I hate being a freelancer, especially those phases with too few contracts. But - and that is what others have told me - those ups and down are part of the game.

However, it's time to clean up some stuff. There's tonns of old crap resting in my galleries to be purged and some new stuff to be posted. Comming soon: Clean Up Service...

Do you have any kind of tutorial for the Palladium map you made a few years back? It's a really fantastic map, I'd love to know how it all got put together!

Uh, sorry nope. Since you are not the first person asking for a tutorial, maybe I really should do one. ;) Have you downloaded the Photoshop-File which I offer here [link] ? There you can at least put apart various elements of the map and analyze the layer effects used.

Thanks for that by the way! Seeing at least the layer styles, etc. definitely helped. Were all those roads rivers hand drawn/pixel by pixel?

Yup, the roads were drawn using standard Photoshop brushes and layer effects. The rivers are hand drawn, as well as the continent outlines, and then colored by overpainting.
